Below is a brief overview of the key transits to the natal charts of Mark Zuckerberg (MZ) and Facebook (FB). I looked at the recent negative publicity events and at the upcoming transits. 

MAR 17, 2018

The Guardian and New York Times published an expose about the Cambridge Analytica scandal, estimating that around 50M Facebook users have been affected. 

MARK ZUCKERBERG: 

T. Venus in Aries square N. Jupiter in Capricorn — Minor disagreements in values with some external entities; expenses on something one may find valuable at the moment but unworthy later; minor irritation because some disrespectful or aggressive entity doesn’t value the established rigid and hierarchical approach to doing things.

T. Mars conjunct N. Neptune in Capricorn (exact) — Upsetting events that involve anger, impatience, hard work, confusion, hidden influences, hidden problems, ill health (esp. fever or some inflammatory reaction to an infection), etc. One may find that they need to work extra hard to resolve a confusing or secretive situation involving some governmental or corporate authority figures. Alternatively, someone else may be upset over the entity’s role as an authority because of some confusion or deception. In general, there may be confusion, anger, and intensified effort to expose [or cover up] some hidden info, or to clear some confusion.

T. North Node in Leo square N. Venus in Taurus and N. Saturn in Scorpio — Negative publicity; being unpopular with some large social group. With natal Venus in Taurus and Saturn in Scorpio — the decrease in popularity is probably with investors (esp. larger businesses as opposed to individual investors), governmental or corporate authorities, and/or over issues related to loans, earnings and profits. 

 

FACEBOOK: 

T. Moon and Sun (new Moon) conjunct N. Venus in Pisces — Light shed on the earnings/income (esp. from hidden or obscure sources), clarification of the confusing situation surrounding profits and/or values. Typically, Moon and Sun transits last only a day or two, but since this was a new Moon, the effects likely extended for an entire month (28 days).

T. Saturn in Capricorn opposition N. Saturn in Cancer — Strong influence symbolizing a major turning point. Some existing structure, set up, method, or approach is typically questioned by the entity or those surrounding it. Time when the current way of being may be shaken up because of some pressures, problems, old age, weakness, rigidity, and a lack of flexibility or innovation. In particular, transiting Saturn in Capricorn symbolizes authorities, government, and large corporations – hence, the external pressure, regulations, problems, or losses may come from these types of entities. Internally, the problems may be felt due to excessively rigid approach and inability of adjusting to a new more disciplined or lean way of functioning. Transiting Saturn demands restructuring, slowing down, possibly replacing authority figures at the top, etc. Hard Saturn transits also typically bring losses, delays, and increased regulations. This transit is in effect Feb 15, 2018 – June 25, 2018 (esp. Feb 27-28 and June 8-9) and then Nov 13, 2018 – Dec 12, 2018 (esp. Nov 25-26). The events that have begun in the spring will likely be re-visited and re-evaluated in the summer and then some final conclusion may be reached or take effect in the late fall. My guess is that it ill be some internal decision about restructuring (esp. domestically [FB natal Saturn in Cancer]  or an external regulation (esp. by governmental authorities [transiting Saturn in Capricorn]). 

T. Uranus in Aries square N. Mercury in Capricorn — Strong influence symbolizing a sudden major upset or a series of rapidly unfolding events that require quick adjustments and rapid processing of large data volumes. The existing way or learning, communicating, or processing data is disrupted, suddenly blocked or upset. An entity must rapidly adjust to volatile changes and learn to communicate in a novel way, process new unfamiliar info, or respond to new data in ways that may be difficult to quickly get a grip on. The difficulty will likely be due to the sudden onset, rapid changes, or unpreparedness and a lack of flexibility. Transiting Uranus demands quick thinking, rapid adjustments, and can quickly start or shut down some projects involving learning, communication, or data processing. In particular, Uranus in Aries may be quite revolutionary and impatient, demanding equal/fair treatment, and favoring new aggressive IT leaders.  For FB, T. Uranus square its natal Mercury in Capricorn indicates pressure to change old, outdated, and rigid approaches to managing data; it also challenges the current corporate structure, authority figures, and regulations — continuing to run things the old way will be virtually impossible. This transits also symbolizes data overload — too much too learn in a short period of time as the data and circumstances change rapidly; as soon as one approach is employed or new info is acquired, it becomes obsolete and a totally new approach is needed. The effect of this transit was the strongest around Feb 3, 2018 – Mar 24, 2018 (esp. Mar 2-4) and the influence has been slowly dissipating since.

T. Pluto conjunction N. Chiron in Capricorn (exact) — Strong influence symbolizing a major transformation involving restructuring, re-organization, increased regulatory oversight, losses, delays, and going through some painful [but ultimately healing] experience. The source of tensions, delays, losses, etc. are the authority figures and governmental and corporate entities, esp. old, established, and conservative. This transit is in effect Feb 19, 2018 – June 30, 2018 (esp. late Apr, 2018), then Dec 15, 2018 – Mar 18, 2019 (esp. Jan 28 – Feb 13, 2019), and then May 20, 2019 – Jan 20, 2020 (esp. July 11-30 and Nov 18 – Dec 20, 2019).  

T. North Node in Leo square N. North Node in Scorpio — Negative publicity; being unpopular with some large social group (with the natal NN in Scorpio — probably with investors).

Zuckerberg appeared before a joint hearing of the Senate Judiciary and Commerce committees. The testimony before a Senate Committee on the Judiciary hearing began at 2:15 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 10, and at 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, April 11, for a House Energy and Commerce hearing.

MARK ZUCKERBERG: 

T. Venus in Taurus conjunct N. Venus in Taurus and opposition N. Saturn in Capricorn (exact) — The opposition to the natal Saturn came first, on the 10th (concerns about money and profits; minor financial losses; not being able to fully enjoy oneself due to external or self-imposed control; suppressing fun activities). On the 12th, the day after the hearing, was the exact conjunction to the natal Venus — feeling more aware of what one likes, appreciates, and values; being able to better enjoy the things one likes; enjoying a pleasant event, news, gifts, a slight increase in income, etc.

T. Mars conjunct N. Jupiter in Capricorn (exact) — Feeling energized, upset, and/or impatient; having to work harder or choosing to do so because one feels energized; exerting a lot of physical energy; taking risks because one feels lucky, strong, or impatient. Dealing with issues related to Jupiter — this can include law and legal issues, foreign connections, and higher education. Since the conjunction is in Capricorn, the issues may involve governmental or corporate authorities, large businesses, business restructuring, regulations, losses, constraints, and slowly progressing developments. The slowness, obstacles, or regulations may be hard to deal with because transiting Mars may make one feel impatient and wanting to act to address the situation quickly and move on.

T. Jupiter conjunct N. Mars and N. Moon in Scorpio — Feeling energized and up for taking risks (esp. financial, since the conjunction is in Scorpio). Increase in physical activity (e.g., exercising or working more hours). With the conjunction taking place in Scorpio, this may be a time of increased focus on secretive activities, spying, hacking, etc. as well as securing loans, dealing with investors, and working on activities related to taxes, debt, and insurance. With transiting Jupiter being retrograde, one may engage in the review of the laws governing the topics above — this may manifest as dealing with lawyers and legal issues, or, one may simply feel like studying or writing about the related topics.

T. Uranus in Aries conjunct N. Mercury in Aries and opposition N. Pluto in Scorpio — Strong influence symbolizing a sudden major upset or a series of rapidly unfolding events that require quick mental adjustments and rapid processing of large amounts of information. The existing way or learning, communicating, or processing info is challenged — one must quickly adapt, which may involve having to learn vast amounts of new info or new skills. An entity must rapidly adjust to sudden changes and learn to communicate in a novel way, process new unfamiliar info, or respond to new data in ways that may require a totally different approach. There may be sudden onset of events and rapid changes. Transiting Uranus demands quick thinking, rapid adjustments, and can quickly start or shut down some projects involving learning, communication, or data processing. In particular, Uranus in Aries may require a very fast response, taking an aggressive/assertive stance, and displaying a confident if not aggressive leadership in the areas of communication, data processing, and IT in general. 

The opposition to Pluto in Scorpio may manifest as feeling uneasy about all these sudden adjustments because they upset the desire for hidden power or to keep the influence hidden. Uranus passing over Mercury in Aries demands more of a in-your-face leadership and new initiatives that involve innovative approaches and large communities [where everyone can communicate and share info equally], whereas Pluto in Scorpio is all about hidden influence, control, and power. Thus, this transit may lead to feeling internal stress, although it may not be conscious given that Pluto is a generational planet. Instead, transiting Uranus opposition to Pluto may be experienced as an ongoing background influence by many people of about the same age as MZ — a sort of a struggle between the desire for IT innovation, freedom, and new ways to use the internet (esp. for financial transactions [when Uranus enters Taurus]) and the desire to protect privacy or to keep certain activities hidden to have more influence/control. This transit (both the conjunction to Mercury and opposition to Pluto) is in effect Apr 9, 2018 – June 9, 2018 (esp. May 4-7 and May 15-18) and then Oct 12, 2018 – Mar 30, 2019 (esp. Nov 3-6 and Nov 19-21, 2018; and Feb 20-23 and Mar 7-9, 2019). 

T. North Node in Leo square N. Saturn in Scorpio (exact) — Negative publicity; being unpopular with some large social group. With natal Saturn in Scorpio — the decrease in popularity is probably with investors (esp. larger businesses as opposed to individual investors) and governmental or corporate authorities. Exact NN transits typically coincide with being thrusted into the public’s eye, becoming famous (or infamous), attending a large gathering (e.g., a conference), or finding oneself in a large group of people at some important public event (e.g., a rally).

FACEBOOK: 

T. Moon conjunct N. Sun and N. Neptune in Aquarius & square T. North Node — At the beginning of the testimony on Apr 10, the transiting Moon was conjunct the transit chart’s Descendent and both were on top of FB’s Sun and Neptune. The transiting North Node (see below) also aligned with this axis. This highlighted the public interest in and focus on the entity, its purpose, status, and goals. Moreover, transiting Moon square to the natal nodes further highlighted this particular moment as an important point in time when the company was at the center of public attention. The Aquarian emphasis corresponded to the nature of the business — online social media and social networking service company. The tense transits from and to the nodes manifested as public scrutiny, judgment, and unfavorable evaluations.

T. Sun in Aries square N. Chiron in Capricorn — Minor unpleasant circumstances related to dealing with authority figures (esp. governmental or large corporate entities). Issues of restructuring, regulations, and greater controls may come up; there may be minor concerns about losses or delays (possibly due to the aforementioned regulations or restructuring).

T. Mercury in Aries square N. Saturn in Cancer — Minor unpleasant news; stressful communication with or about authority figures, esp. old, conservative, and from governmental or large corporate entities. Unfavorable or stressful communication where the entity is being urged to communicate directly, openly, and succinctly, but may be slow to respond or responds in unsatisfying manner because it feels vulnerable, is fearful, and wants to protect itself. Requests for communication may be perceived as too aggressive or undermining the safety/security.

This strengthened the probability of the unfavorable perception about the company. In particular, Venus in Taurus (double emphasis on money and earnings) in a tense aspect to Neptune (hidden info, deception, confusion) in Aquarius (social networks, on-line communities) can be interpreted as concerns about the company’s secretive activities involving social networks. Transiting Venus opposing natal NN also means a time of decreased popularity and likability, or, going against the generally established [preferred] norms of social interactions.

TBD. Will update the post soon (planning to add more content within the next week sometime). I’ve already looked at the MZ and FB charts weeks ago, but it’s hard to find the time to write up all the observations. 

In sum, there are more tense transits on the horizon and some of the current transits are slowly unfolding — this means that the saga will go on for some time (months/few years). When transiting Saturn and then Pluto conjunct FB’s natal Mercury (in 2020 and 2021/2022, respectively), there may be a major transformation of the company, incl. closure, downsizing, corporate restructuring, or splitting into several entities. 

Update (12.09.20): As I predicted over 2 yrs ago, an antitrust lawsuit was filed against Facebook on 12/09/20 by FTC and dozens of states. With the upcoming tense transits, this may indeed be a serious lawsuit with long-lasting consequences for FB as well as other similar companies (social media type companies and generally IT, aerospace, high tech, internet-related, telecoms, electric power, etc.). 

In the near future, the upcoming transit of Uranus over FB’s natal Mars (Apr 25 – Jun 25, 2018, esp. May 22 – Jun 13, 2018) may coincide with a notable splash of news — probably over some financial issue, profits, or earnings — there may be unpleasant surprises, upset feelings, and anger. At the end of April and early May, transiting Mars will also go over FB’s Chiron and then Mercury — increased probability of upsetting events and/or painful adjustments because of some regulations; discussions of regulations; feeling pressure over communications; possibly signing some agreement.
